Why it’s HorroRated
Sleepaway Camp is one of those slashers that's easy to underestimate until you sit down and watch it. Beneath its summer camp setting is an offbeat atmosphere that feels noticeably stranger and more unsettling than many of its early-'80s peers. Its memorable practical effects, awkward charm, and willingness to embrace the unexpected have helped it earn lasting cult status. Whether you're revisiting it or experiencing it for the first time, it's a horror staple that's well worth adding to your watchlist.
Synopsis
Years after a terrible boating accident, Angela is sent to Camp Arawak where a series of bizarre and violent "accidents" begin to claim the lives of various campers.
